Description
Wells Head is a 17th-century house located on the west side of Newbury Road in East Hendred. The building features a rendered plinth on the left and a painted brick plinth on the right. It has large timber framing with rendered infill, and some painted brick infill to the left of center. The roof is thatched and hipped to the left, with a brick stack at the right end and a ridge stack to the left of center. The house is two stories high and has a six-bay, three-window range. The central entrance has a 19th-century five-panel part-glazed door, sheltered by a rustic open gabled porch. All openings feature three-light casements with leaded lights, except for a two-light casement with leaded lights to the right of center. The interior has not been inspected.
