Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 15 metres northeast of the Manor House, is likely a former banqueting house dating from the 16th century. It features lead guttering dated 1674 at the down-pipe heads. The structure has a stone rubble plinth with curved brick coping, stone coursed rubble on the ground floor, and close studded timber-framing on the first floor with rendered infill. The roof is covered with old plain tiles. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of a two and a half-bay range.
There is a plank door to the right of centre, along with a moulded wood four-centre arched doorway that has decorative spandrels. The windows are regularly spaced, featuring two-light wood ovolo mullion windows with leaded lights. Inside, there is probably a 19th-century straight-flight staircase with a winder at the base leading from the ground to the first floor, which has a 17th-century pierced baluster balustrade. A 20th-century straight-flight staircase connects the first floor to the attic. The roof structure includes a double-queenpost design with windbraces. The ground floor displays a chamfered spine beam and joists with end stops, as well as a panelled dado.
