Description
The East Gatepier, located approximately 20 meters southeast of the Manor House, is a gatepier dating from around 1670. It is constructed from stone ashlar and features a square design with stone banding on the sides. There are round-topped niches on both sides facing the house and the opposing side. At the top, there is a cornice with a pulvinated frieze, and the center of each side projects forward on brackets. A ball finial crowns the structure. This gatepier is one of a pair that marks the former entrance drive and is similar to the gatepiers at Coleshill designed by Sir Roger Pratt.
