Description

Ayres Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a front added in the 18th century. It is rendered, likely over brick, and features a plain-tile roof from the 20th century that is half-hipped to the left, with a central brick ridge stack. The cottage has a two-unit lobby-entry plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range. There is a plank door at the center, and 20th-century two-light casements are present in all openings, except for a 20th-century angled bay window on the ground floor to the right. The left return and rear of the cottage show timber-framing. The interior has not been inspected. A 20th-century addition to the right is not of special architectural interest. The cottage is included for its group value.
