Description
Cotterills is a house that dates back to the early 17th century, with an 18th-century front and an 18th-century addition on the right. The building features roughcast, likely over timber-framing on the right, and render, probably over timber-framing in the center and left sections. It has an old plain-tile half-hipped roof and a brick ridge stack located to the right of the center.
The house is two stories tall with a three-window range. There is a late 19th-century shop front on the left and center, which includes a central sash door and 15-pane shop windows on either side. The first floor has 16-pane horned sash windows on the left and center, all framed with wood architrave surrounds. The left side of the building shows timber-framing with painted brick infill, and the first floor jetties out.
The addition to the right is roughcast, likely over brick, and has an old plain-tile roof that is half-hipped to the right, with a brick stack at the rear. This section features a six-panel door on the left, accompanied by a 19th-century open timber-framed porch, and has 16-pane unhorned sash windows on both the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected.
