Description

The Old Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, now a house, located in Frilford. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble with a gabled and half-hipped roof. The front section of the roof is covered in old tiles, while the rear is covered in 20th-century tiles. It has a brick end stack and a rear lateral stack finished in 20th-century brick. The building follows a three-unit plan and has two storeys with a four-window front. A concrete lintel sits above a 20th-century front door with a porch, and timber lintels are above 20th-century doors on either side. The windows also have concrete and timber lintels; the window directly above the central door has a chamfered timber lintel with an ogee stop.

Inside, there's an open fireplace on the right side. A room to the left features a chamfered beam with wedge-stopped ends and a quarter-turn staircase adjoining an open fireplace and a panelled spice cupboard. The first floor has a chamfered and stopped beam to the left. The remodelled 20th-century roof incorporates a queen-post truss on the right side. In the mid-19th century, the farmhouse was converted into two cottages.
