Description

Lodge Cottage is a house from the mid-18th century, constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and stone stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. There is a flat stone arch above a 19th-century plank door, with similar arches over late 19th-century four-light casements on the ground floor and timber lintels over late 19th-century two-light casements on the first floor. The roof is gabled with gable end stacks. To the right of the front, there is a later lean-to made of coursed limestone rubble with a tile roof. Inside, the room to the left features a segmental brick arch over an open fireplace that includes a bread oven, and the building has a three-bay collar-truss roof.
