Description

Green Farm is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a stone slate roof and rendered stacks. The building features a two-unit central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with a five-window range. It has a flat stone arch over a central 20th-century door that is topped with a flat hood. The windows include an 18th-century two-light leaded casement, a 20th-century two-light casement, and a 20th-century one-light inserted casement to the left, with timber lintels over blocked first-floor windows. The roof is gabled with gable end stacks.

At the rear, there is a flat stone arch over a 20th-century stair-light, timber lintels over one- and two-light first-floor windows, and two gabled dormers with tiled roofs and 2-light leaded casements. Inside, the house features mid-19th-century four-panelled and plank doors, as well as 18th-century ribbed doors in the attic. The room to the right has a chamfered and stopped beam and a wood moulded architrave surrounding a blocked fireplace, flanked by original cupboards. The room to the left contains a full set of chamfered and stopped beams and a washing copper next to an open fireplace.

The dog leg staircase with landing has stick balusters on a closed string, turned newels, and splat balusters leading from the first floor to the attic. On the first floor, the room to the left features a full set of chamfered and stopped, quartered beams and joists, while the room to the right has cased quartered beams. The roof structure consists of a four-bay butt purlin roof with collar trusses and side struts to the end trusses, along with boarded partitions to the centre trusses.
