Description
Manor Farmhouse, stables, and granary date from the 18th century. The stables and granary are weatherboarded over a light timber frame, standing on a brick and sarsen plinth at the front, while the rear features a chalk and sarsen rubble wall that replaced the original timber-framed wall in the 19th century. The building has a jettied first floor on the left side wall and a thatched roof with a half-hipped design. It has a 4-bay plan and is 1 and a half stories tall. The doors and windows are from the 20th century, except for an 18th-century loft door and a two-light wood-mullioned unglazed window with vertical staves at the top of the left side wall. Inside, the 4-bay roof includes one queen post and two collar trusses with butt purlins. There is a 2-bay structure that adjoins the right gable wall, which was originally timber framed but now has a concrete block front wall and a chalk and sarsen rear wall, featuring queen post trusses with clasped purlins. The building is included for its group value.
