Description
This is an outbuilding dated 1797, located approximately 5 meters northwest of the Homestead in Harwell. The structure features various dated bricks and incorporates some re-used cruck trusses. It has a squared coursed stone plinth and is built of red brick with flared headers in Flemish bond. The roof is an old plain-tile half-hipped design. The outbuilding consists of four bays and has plank double doors to the right of center, which are topped with a segmental brick head. There is also a segmental brick-headed opening to the right with a wood frame. The rear wall is made of brick in various bonds, with long bricks used in the upper courses. Inside, truncated re-used cruck trusses rise from the tie-beam. The front features various inscribed bricks, including one that reads "T, Harris, July 12, 1797."
