Description
The Community Centre, originally the Faringdon Bank, is an early 19th-century building with a tall ashlar front. It has a basement and three storeys, featuring a four-window range. The exterior includes a parapet, a moulded cornice, a moulded band at the first-floor sill level, and a ground floor plinth. The building has tall sash windows with glazing bars, and doors on each side set in plain tall openings with bead moulding and rectangular fanlights. There are stone steps leading up to the entrance and a low stone wall in between. Inside, there is a rear curved open well staircase with a continuous rail and scrolled brackets supporting the treads.
