Description
No. 4 Market Place is an early 19th century refronting of a house dating from the 16th to 17th century. The building is two stories high with an attic and features a slate roof that includes one gabled dormer. The front is stuccoed and has a three-window range, with a blank space in the center on the first floor and glazing bar sash windows on the sides. The ground floor has a later 19th century projecting shopfront that is double fronted, with brackets supporting the cornice and two-light plate glass windows with slim shafts. Inside, there is a Tudor arched moulded fireplace beam and heavy structural timbers. The rear of the building is gabled stone with brick angles.
