Description
Nos 16 and 18 on London Street are a pair of 18th-century buildings constructed from roughcast rubble stone. They are two stories high and feature a plain tile roof with brick stacks at the end walls. The buildings have stucco quoins and a two-window arrangement of 16-pane sash windows on the upper floor. On the ground floor, there is a 16-pane sash window and a door for No 16, along with a 19th-century shopfront that includes a canted-sided projecting window flanked by pilasters and topped with a fascia. At the rear, there are wings made of brick and rubble stone, covered with stone-tiled roofs. These buildings were formerly known as The George Public House.
