Description
Nos 24 and 26 on London Street are a pair of 18th-century cottages built from rubble stone. They are two stories high and feature a stone-tiled roof that is half-hipped at the west end. The cottages have brick stacks on the ridge and east wall.
No 24 has one window range and is stuccoed, while No 26 is double fronted with two windows and is painted. No 24 was altered in the early 19th century, featuring a 16-pane sash window above and a small shopfront below, which previously had a bowed window. It has a six-panel door with fielded panels, and the end wall has been rebuilt in brick with a rendered gable. No 26 has two and three-light casements on the first floor and 19th-century six-pane windows below, along with a central two-panel door.
