Description
This barn, now used as stables, dates from the 18th century and is located approximately 20 meters northeast of Furzewick Farmhouse, which is not included in this listing. The structure features a combination of brick and 20th-century concrete block at the front, with rendered walls at the rear and sides. It has a corrugated iron roof, with an older tiled roof over the porch. The barn has a three-bay aisled plan that includes a central threshing floor. The porch has a hipped roof and 20th-century plank doors. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, there are posts that are braced to the tie beam and wall plate, and the roof structure consists of a three-bay queen-post design with clasped purlins and curved wind braces. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
