Description

No. 2 Cornmarket is an early 19th-century corner house with a stucco facade. It stands three storeys tall and features a stone tiled roof that is hipped at an angle, with a central brick ridge stack. The building has a two-window range on each side, with glazing bar sash windows. The ground floor shopfront has been altered in the 19th century. A late 19th-century projecting round clock is mounted on an iron bracket, displaying two faces and using an indirect drive to move the hands. There are lower stucco and brick extensions at the rear. This building is located at an important site at the head of Gloucester Street.
