Description

The Volunteer Inn is a mid-18th century roughcast house located on the north side of Gloucester Street in Great Faringdon. It stands two stories high with an attic and features a modern tile roof, end wall stacks, and two gabled dormers. The building has a wood modillion eaves cornice and a five-window range of exposed box glazing bar sash windows. The ground floor window at the west end has been replaced with a later three-light casement. The entrance door is adorned with a moulded wooden hood supported by large ornate scrolled brackets. The west end wall is constructed of rubble stone with brick angles.
