Description

Barclays Bank is a house and shop, now functioning as a bank, built around 1850. The building features rusticated stucco over brick and has a linear plan in the Italianate style. It stands three storeys high and has a five-window range. The ground floor has been altered in the 20th century. The upper floors display keyed semi-circular arches with hood-moulds that extend into a moulded string course at the impost level, above horned single-pane sashes set in cavetto-moulded architraves. A decorative cast-iron balcony is present, and there is a similar two-window range on the left side wall. The interior has not been inspected.
