Description
No. 4 Longcot Road is a late 16th century building, with historical deeds dating back to 1591, but it has been entirely altered to reflect a 19th century character following modifications in 1810, 1820, and 1870. The structure is made of rubble stone with brick quoins and dressings, topped with a gabled machine tiled roof and featuring two ridge brick stacks. Originally two separate houses, it has been converted into a single dwelling.
The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range on the west side, where the upper windows are six-pane sashes set under cambered brick heads, while the ground floor features eight-pane sashes also under cambered heads, but with stone keystones. On the east side, there is a four-bay range with three six-pane sashes on the upper floor and two four-pane sashes on the ground floor. The ground floor includes a six-panelled door located beneath a machine tiled gabled porch on the right side and a carriage arch on the outer left side.
