Description

This dovecote, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 35 meters northeast of Manor Farmhouse in South Stoke. It features a red brick base and red brick walls with some grey headers, topped by an old plain-tile cross-gabled roof. The structure has a square plan and includes a central two-panel door with a segmental head, as well as round openings in the cross-gables. Inside, there are brick nests for the doves. Some roof reconstruction occurred in the 20th century. It is reputed to be the largest dovecote in Oxfordshire.
