Description
Wittenham House is a house located on Main Street in Little Wittenham, dating from the mid-17th century. It was converted into a rectory and re-fronted around 1860, possibly by Charles Buckeridge. The building features a rendered exterior, likely over timber framing, and has an old plain-tile complex roof with a central brick ridge stack. It is arranged in a probably two-unit lobby-entry plan and has two storeys plus an attic, with a five-window range.
The front of the house includes double glazed doors leading to a central glazed porch. To the left, there is a three-light wood mullion window with sashes, and to the right of the centre, a two-light wood mullion window. There is another two-light wood mullion window with sashes in a projecting bay above the porch on the first floor. To the left, there are two 2-pane sash windows with splayed reveals, while to the right, there are two two-light wood mullion windows with sashes. The house has cross-gables on the left and right sides, each featuring two-light wood mullion windows with casements. The left return displays timber framing with angle braces. The interior has not been inspected.
