Description

The Thatch is a late 17th-century house situated in Cuxham with Easington. The house is rectangular, built with timber framing and colourwashed brick infill. The right-hand side of the ground floor wall is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble. It has a gabled thatch roof, and a brick external stack at the right end with a diagonally-set flue. The building is in an L-shape with a rear-right wing. It is one storey high with an attic. The front has a two-window range. A plank door is sheltered by a tiled pentice, flanked by 20th-century casement windows, except for a late 19th-century three-light casement on the right. A late 19th-century two-light dormer casement is located in the attic. The interior was not inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
