Description
Rose House is an early 18th-century house located in Cuxham, shown on the OS map as Orchard Cottage. The building features coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and a chequer brick left side wall. It has a gabled old tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The house has a 2-unit outshut plan and is two storeys high, displaying a two-window range with scattered fenestration. To the right, there is a segmental brick arch over a 20th-century plank door, while to the left, a 2-light leaded casement is adjacent to a 20th-century window opening. The first-floor casements are set beneath a segmental brick arch and timber lintel. A brick string course is raised in the centre, and the right side wall features flat brick arches over cross-windows. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
