Description

This group of three chest tombs, dating from the late 18th century, is located approximately 10 metres south of the Church of St. Laurence. They are made of limestone and feature flat tops with moulded edges, while the sides are adorned with fielded panels. Although the inscriptions on the panels are now illegible, the largest tomb measures about 2 metres by 3 metres and has an inscription on the cover commemorating Thomas Blackall, who died in 1779. He was known to have lived at Court Farmhouse and is said to have weighed 32 stone.
