Description
The raised pavement and iron railings on Hart Street date from the 18th or 19th century. The stone flagged pavement is situated beside the church, elevated on a base of flint and brick above the road level, with steps at the eastern end. The iron railings, which include some damaged sections, feature urn finials. At the west end, there is a square hollow pier with gothic arched panels. This structure is part of a group that includes Nos 5 to 39 (odd), the Drinking Fountain, the Parish Church of St Mary, and the raised pavement at the east end of Hart Street, as well as Nos 2 to 8 (even), Nos 14 to 36 (even), Adam House, and Nos 40, 44 (including gates and piers), 48, No 50, The Old School House, and the Rectory Garden Wall opposite.
