Description

No 53 on Market Place is an early 19th century building with a stucco facade that is timber framed. It features a moulded bressumer, which is still visible above the underbuilt ground floor. The building has a moulded wood eaves cornice and an old tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has two windows, which are sash windows with cased frames and glazing bars. The ground floor window consists of three lights. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 35 to 63 (odd), the Town Hall, Nos 50 and 52, and Nos 62 to 66 (even).
