Description

Melbourne House is an 18th-century building located on the south side of Market Place. It features a red brick facade with a stucco ground floor, a brick eaves cornice, and an old tiled roof that is hipped at the east end. The building stands three storeys tall and has four windows, which are sashes set in cased frames with single glazing bars. There is a band above the ground floor. The entrance includes a 19th-century six-panelled door, with an additional door located at the rear on the east side. Melbourne House is part of a group that includes Nos 35 to 63 (odd), the Town Hall, Nos 50 and 52, and Nos 62 to 66 (even).
