Description
45 and 47 Market Place is a medieval and later building featuring exposed timber framing and a large, steeply pitched old tiled roof. It has two storeys and three windows. The upper floor jetties out, with outer windows consisting of three-light sashes that have thick glazing bars. There is a central carriage arch above the ground floor, which also displays exposed timber framing in the walls, and a pointed Gothic arched doorway in the eastern wall. To the east of the archway, there is a shop front. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 35 to 63 (odd), the Town Hall, and Nos 50 and 52, as well as Nos 62 to 66 (even).
