Description

These are two attached buildings on the south side of the Market Place, dating to 1755 as indicated by a rainwater head. They are constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing. The buildings have a panelled parapet with stone coping and a large hipped roof covered in old tiles. They are three stories high with seven windows in total, featuring cased sash windows. A canted bay window with a tiled roof extends from the first floor of the eastern section, incorporating a carriage arch and a connecting door. A modern shop front is located on the western side, and there is a passage to the rear. Behind the main structure are timber-framed buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. These buildings form a group with Nos. 35-63 (odd), the Town Hall, Nos. 50 and 52, and Nos. 62-66 (even).
