Description

Two dwellings, dating from the 17th century and remodelled in the early to mid-18th century. The rear of the building shows rectangular timber framing with brick infill, while the front is of grey brick with red brick dressings. It has a gabled roof covered in old tiles, with brick ridge and right-end stacks. The building is arranged with a four-unit plan and has a seven-window front. A gauged brick segmental arch sits above a 19th-century six-panelled door with a flat hood on the right, with a 20th-century door to the left. Further gauged brick arches appear above six-pane sash windows. The two leftmost bays feature sashes with thick glazing bars, and there are three blind first-floor windows. A red brick dentilled storey band runs along the first floor. The interior of No. 9 (on the left) contains jowled posts supporting a collar-truss roof, with chamfered clasped purlins. No. 11 has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
