Description
Hayden Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with a 19th-century extension that creates a new front on the left side. The building features timber framing with irregular close studding and brick infill, along with rendered panels on the first floor to the left. It has an old plain-tile roof and a brick end stack on the left. The structure is L-shaped with a cross wing at the left rear and is two storeys tall, comprising a four-window range. There is a 20th-century part-glazed door located to the left of centre, with horizontal sash windows to the left and right of centre, and a two-light wood casement window to the right. On the first floor, there is a horizontal sash window to the left and left of centre, along with a single-light window and a two-light wood casement window to the right of centre. The interior is noted for having extensive beaming. The 19th-century front extension on the left side is made of red brick and is also two storeys tall, featuring a three-window range.
