Description
The ornamental wellhead, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 50 meters to the northwest of Shotover Park. It is made of marble and wrought iron, designed in the form of a capital featuring pairs of cherubs' faces surrounded by intricate foliage. Below the square abacus, there is a band of cable ornament. The arched iron overthrow is elaborately decorated with scrolls and tendrils, and it supports a bronze bucket on a chain. The wellhead is likely of Italian origin.
