Description
Ash Tree Cottage is a small house dating from the early to late 17th century. It features timber framing with rendered infill and clunch rubble, topped with a plain-tile roof that has a brick ridge stack. The building is arranged in an L-plan and consists of two storeys and one storey plus attics. The main range, made of rubble, has three units and includes two casement windows on either side of a doorway to the left, along with a central roof dormer. To the right, there is a projecting two-storey timber-framed wing. The roof of the main range is hipped to the left and has a stack aligned with the former entrance. Notably, the stone on the main range is inscribed with "M. Beisly/1794". Inside, the main range features a large open fireplace with an adjoining entrance lobby, while the wing has a clasped-purlin roof.
