Description

Blackbird Cottage is a small house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It features rendered timber framing and has a thatched roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has a three-unit lobby-entry plan and consists of one storey plus attics and two storeys. The front of the cottage includes a plank door located to the left of centre, flanked by three-light casement windows, with two dormers above. There is a narrow bay on the extreme right that contains a small casement window. The roof is half-hipped on the right side and has a higher eaves level in the left bay. The clustered stacks are aligned with the doorway, and the right gable wall displays exposed timber framing. The interior has not been inspected.
