Description
This building, known as Wheelers and the attached cottage and wall, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of header bond brick with red brick quoins and dressings, and features a gabled M-shaped old tile roof with brick stacks at the right end and left internal stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a one-window range. There is a blocked door to the right, and segmental arches with second-floor timber lintels over sash windows. The rear has a 20th-century door and 18th-century sashes.
At the rear left, there is a brick-built passage with a plank door and a two-light Gothick leaded casement, which connects to a 17th-century two-storey, two-bay cottage. The left side wall of this cottage features rectangular timber framing with brick infill, while the right side is made of mid-19th-century brick. It has a gabled old tile roof and brick gable end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
Additionally, there is a subsidiary feature: a wall to the rear right made of flint rubble with brick dressings and a round arch over a door.
