Description

Plumtree Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with timber lintels, and has a concrete plain-tile roof with a brick gable stack. The original plan comprised two units. The front has two-light casement windows to both the ground and first floors. An entrance, now with a 20th-century stone and tiled porch, is located in the right-hand gable wall. Extensions were later added to the left and to the rear. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered spine beam with run-out stops, chamfered and stopped beams, a timber-framed cross-partition, and a central truss.
