Description

A row of twelve houses, numbered 5 to 16, dating from the mid-19th century, arranged in six pairs around a square of gardens. The houses are constructed of flint with red brick plinths, bands, and window dressings. Each pair has twin gables topped with red brick dentilled cornices. They have tiled roofs with diamond-shaped central stacks rising from rectangular plinths. The houses are two storeys high with one window each. The windows are 19th-century casements, some of which have been altered; original windows have slightly arched lights. Each pair has a side door sheltered by a small, half-hipped roof that extends outward over the door, supported on brackets. Smaller gables are situated on the sides. Nos 5 to 16 form a visually interesting and planned group.
