Description

The gatepier, located approximately 190 meters west of Piccadilly Cottage, is part of the entrance screen to Ascott Park and dates from the 17th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and has a square plan with pilaster strips on all sides, featuring a rusticated front. The gatepier includes a moulded base and cornice that break around the projections, with remnants of a finial at the top. This gatepier is one of four lesser piers that form part of a total of six at the entrance to Ascott Park, which is listed in the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II.
