Description
Stable court located approximately 200 meters to the south of Shotover Park, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and features a Welsh-slate roof. The building has a quadrangular plan, consisting of a single-storey structure with a two-storey rear range. The central gate tower includes an arched entrance below a 12-pane sash window, which is topped by a triangular pediment. Above this, there is a stepped base for a square rubble dovecote that displays a clock face and is crowned with a square wooden cupola featuring an ogee roof. The left range has five arched carriage entrances, while the rear range serves as domestic accommodation. The roofs are hipped. The interiors have not been inspected.
