Description

No. 57, known as Telling Time Antiques and Thame Security, is a house that has been converted into shops. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The exterior is rendered, likely over timber framing, and it features an old plain-tile roof, although the chimney stacks are not visible. The building is two stories high and presents a single-window range. To the left, there is a four-panel door, and to the right, a tripartite horned sash window with glazing bars. The first floor is jettied and supported by a moulded bressumer, with rendered quoins at this level. In the center of the first floor, there is a 16-pane unhorned sash window. The roof has a cross-gable with 19th-century shaped barge boards. The interior has not been inspected.
