Description

The monument to Thomas Bennett, located in All Hallows Churchyard, dates from around 1616 and has been restored in 1876 and 1981. It is constructed of stone and is designed in a Gothic survival style. The monument features a square base with angle buttresses that rise to create a square ogee domed canopy. Each side of the base has a Tudor-arched panel. The top of the canopy is adorned with a crocketted ogee arch that includes a finial and cusped tracery on each side. Inside, there is a groined vault with a central boss, and a Tudor flower frieze is present at the base of the dome.
