Description

The Wansell memorial, located approximately 5 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Thomas a Beckett, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-17th century. It is made of limestone and features a deep lid with a hollow-chamfered lower edge. The sides of the chest have rectangular molded panels, while the ends are adorned with arched panels. The inscription, which is partly legible, commemorates Robert Wansell, who died in 1657.
