Description
Brightwell Farm cowhouses, located approximately 15 meters east of the farmhouse, date from the 18th century and have been adapted for use as a gorge store and disused milking parlour. The structure features 20th-century weatherboarding over a timber frame, set on a limestone rubble base, and is topped with a gabled corrugated iron roof. It is a single-storey building with a five-window range, which includes 20th-century doors and window openings, two of which are blocked. Inside, there is a five-bay roof with clasped purlins, two collar-trusses on the left, and two pairs of very thin cruck blades on the right. To the left, there is a lower one-storey building constructed from similar materials, featuring an old-tile roof and jowled posts supporting a five-bay queen-post roof. This building is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
