Description

The Bakery is a house, likely dating from the mid-17th century, with later additions. The ground floor is painted brick, while the first floor features timber framing with painted brick infill. The roof is covered in old plain tiles, topped by a rendered brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys and originally comprised two bays, oriented at a right angle to the street. There is a plank door with a side light on the right-hand side. A single-storey projection with a cat-slide roof extends to the left. A three-light casement window is located on the first floor to the right. The left return to the road features a plank door on the right. A 19th-century bay with casement windows on wooden brackets sits to the left, with a hipped lean-to roof extending over the door to the right. A five-light casement window is positioned on the first floor centrally. The rear elevation displays red and grey brickwork, with two blocked openings on the ground floor. Two three-light casement windows are present on the first floor. The interior contains extensive timber beaming.
