Description

The Old Barn House is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with brick dressings, and has a plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and a single storey plus attics. The front has a door and casement window in the centre bay, and two-light casement windows in the flanking bays, with three gabled dormers above. All windows have been renewed. A diagonal brick stack is located to the left of the centre. The left gable wall is in brick. A 20th-century rear wing has been added. Inside, there are two back-to-back open fireplaces, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
