Description
Delafield is a house from the early 17th century that has been altered. It is constructed of limestone rubble with timber lintels and features an old plain tile roof along with brick gable stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall. The front has five windows, with the two bays on the left slightly projecting and featuring a large gable that contains the current entrance. The windows are varied casements of two and three lights, all of which have been renewed. The stack on the right has two diagonal shafts, while the left gable wall has a large chimney projection with tumbled brick weatherings. There is a rebuilt three-window subsidiary range to the right, and the main entrance is located in a small single-storey range set back on the left. Inside, there are heavy chamfered beams and joists with ogee stops, two open fireplaces, fireplaces on the first floor, and timber-framed partitions.
