Description

Two cottages stand in Preston Crowmarsh, dating to the late 18th century, with early 19th-century extensions added to the left and right. The central section is built of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, while the left and right extensions are constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, also with brick dressings. The roof is thatched and half-hipped, featuring brick ridge stacks. The cottages present a two-storey, two-window facade. Centrally located are two plank doors. To the left and right are horizontal sliding sash windows with segmental brick heads on the ground floor. Two further horizontal sliding sash windows are located centrally on the first floor. The interior remains uninspected. The group value of these cottages lies in their representation of vernacular rural housing of the period.
