Description
Brightwell Park Dovecote is an early 17th-century structure built from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and brick door and window dressings. It features a hipped roof covered with 20th-century tiles and has a plan shaped like a Greek cross. The dovecote stands two storeys tall and has a one-window range. There is a label mould above the round-arched doorway, which has a studded door, and another label mould over a two-light wood-mullioned window on the first floor, set in a chamfered surround. The roof is topped with two octagonal glover finials. Similar windows can be found on the sides and rear of the building. Inside, there are brick nesting boxes and ledges.
