Description
The Priory Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins and features a concrete plain-tile roof with a gable stack. The building has a two-unit plan along with a single-storey range and is one storey plus attics in height. The front has two windows, with a central plank door located between small renewed sash windows, all set under brick segmental arches. There are also two 2-light dormers from the 20th century. A county fire insurance plaque is present on the exterior, and there is one old 2-light casement window at the rear. The range to the right shows remnants of timber framing and has a half-hipped roof. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace featuring a chamfered and stopped bressumer, along with a flanking winder stair.
