Description
The Old Vicarage is a house, built in 1867 as a vicarage by A.W. Blomfield. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has an old plain-tile roof with stone stacks. The house is arranged in an irregular U-shape, with two storeys and attics. The front elevation, four windows wide, features a large gable on the left bay and a slightly projecting gabled bay second from the right. It has large stone mullioned and transomed windows set beneath relieving arches. A double-transomed window with stained glass is located between the gables, along with a 4-light hipped roof dormer. An arched entrance is situated in the left return wall. Stone parapets top all gables. The rear of the property has a bay window and prominent stacks on the gables of projecting wings. The building appears unaltered externally. The interior has not been inspected.
